Our Story

Saponify started in a basement turned "soap factory" in Maryland.

A life-long soap maker, Natalie founded Saponify after discovering that the materials she was using for her small soap business were not up to par. She wanted a reliable, quality soap base made with ingredients that do not exploit the earth.

Over nearly a year, Natalie tested dozens of recipes before finding the perfect one. That perfect recipe is the Saponify soap base you know and love today. Since then, we at Saponify have strived to provide you with professional-quality soap making supplies that are easy enough for beginners to use. We now offer 14 varieties of soap base and counting!
