What makes a soap base "natural"?
A true natural soap base starts with saponified oils rather than synthetic detergents. Many craft-store bases lean on sulfates like SLS or SLES to force a foamy lather; Saponify bases skip detergents entirely, so the lather comes from real soap. The result is gentler on sensitive skin and safe for everyday hand and body bars — the reason small-batch soap businesses build their product lines on our bases.
Which natural base should I start with?
- Goat's Milk — the gentle classic; moisturizing but light, loved for sensitive skin.
- Shea Butter — creamy and nourishing with a thick, dense lather.
- Clear Glycerin — crystal-clear and vegan; the base for embeds, layers, and jewel-toned bars.
- White — a bright, neutral canvas that makes colors pop in pastel.

Are your natural soap bases vegan?
Most are — including Clear Glycerin, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, and Cocoa Butter. Bases made with milk or honey (Goat's Milk, Donkey Milk, Honey) are vegetarian but not vegan; each product page lists a vegan alternative.
